Career

Hauler Hero — Director of Experience Design (2022–present)

B2B SaaS for waste-management operators. Joined as UX Manager (2022), promoted to Director of Experience Design (2024). Inherited the platform at 6 customers and rebuilt the product function end-to-end — scaling to 200+ customers and $4M ARR through a $16M Series A, with the highest NPS in category. Built the design system the core team and three product lines ship against, and shaped an AI-first product culture from the ground up — represented externally at the Agentic AI for Product Teams and Frontier Growth 10X Product Org in the Agentic Era roundtables.

Trainual — Sr. Product Designer, Growth (2020–2022)

SMB SaaS for documenting and scaling businesses. Joined as Product Designer (2020), promoted to Sr. Product Designer, Growth (2021). Led product-led growth strategy driving a 40% increase in activation and retention; shaped the product strategy and pricing model that contributed to the $27M Series B; and built Saguaro, the open-source design system. Scaled the design team from 2 to 6 product squads while establishing dedicated Design System and Growth teams — Trainual ranked No. 255 on the 2022 Inc. 5000 during that period.

Integrate — Product Designer (2018–2020)

B2B Martech with an analytics-heavy reporting surface. Started as Interaction Designer (2018), promoted to Product Designer (2019). Led the reporting rebuild that gave operators their week back; led the front-end migration from Angular to React, implementing Storybook UI as the component library foundation; and unified design processes across three companies (two acquired) post-acquisition. Presented at PHXDW 2019 on Design Systems for SaaS Products.

Beyond the screen

The same instincts run through it all — and they stay honest the more sides I keep alive.

Mid-renovation, drill in hand. UX interiors isn't aspirational — it's the same hands that ship the screens.

  • Pigment to pixels. Evolved from a nationally recognized fine artist to a leading product designer in top tech startups. Currently represented by Jack Meier Gallery; see /art for the current body of work.
  • UX interiors. Building intentional interiors that seamlessly marry aesthetics and usability.
  • Yoga & wellness. Co-owned and operated the #1 rated boutique barre & yoga studio in the Phoenix Metro area (2022–2024), earning top ratings across ClassPass, Yelp, and Google.
  • Farm to table. At Whole Foods Market, developed strong relationships with local AZ farms, expanded the organic local produce program, and supported small-business growth.
  • Gaming. Years of competitive FPS, plus a year of formal game design at the University of Advancing Technology (2008–2009).

From the gaming years

Before product design, gaming was the constant. Competitive FPS sharpened the way I read systems at speed — what's working, what isn't, where the player's attention goes. A year at the University of Advancing Technology studying game design (2008–2009) made that reading explicit: level flow, interaction states, player feedback loops, pacing.

Twelve seconds of muscle memory.

From the TenPoint5 years

Co-owning TenPoint5 wasn't a hobby — it was about designing a safe space where members could learn to build a real mind-body connection and carry it back into their everyday lives. The work behind that was a real business: a community, a class schedule, instructors, a P&L. The same instincts that show up in product leadership showed up there — refusing to run a transactional studio and instead building a real community, one whose value outlasted the hour on the mat and carried into the lives members led outside the room. The studio earned top ratings across ClassPass, Yelp, and Google through 2022–2024.

His visual assets are great, and he also has the design maturity to understand that visuals aren't the only ingredient in 'good design'. Unafraid of radical candor with the intention of improving workflows, workplaces, etc."
